MECSPE 2026: Our Feedback
From March 3rd to 5th, together with our Steel Mech Group business network and within the Comet group, we exhibited at MECSPE, the leading international trade fair for the manufacturing industry.
Participation was crucial because it provided us with further confirmation of industry trends and interesting insights.
Looking ahead despite the uncertainty
This is a challenging time for everyone, and the industry is experiencing widespread concern. Planning for the future has become difficult, especially with the uncertainty of energy costs continuing to rise.
What we sensed in speaking with other participants at the trade fair, however, was great determination. There’s no shortage of a desire to move forward with concrete action. The networking project we’re pursuing with Steel Mech Group also proves to be the right choice for adapting to a rapidly changing market.
Markets and new opportunities
As with SamuEXPO, MECSPE also lacked foreign companies. Perhaps, given the costs, many prefer virtual contacts to physical attendance. An interesting fact, however, is that foreign markets are now highly rewarding those who invest in green certifications.
Another potential business opportunity is the defence sector, which appears to be the one with the most room for growth, even though becoming a supplier requires a long and demanding certification process.
Particularly stimulating, however, was the interaction with organizations with different structures and the presence of companies specializing in technology to support production and SMEs, as well as companies active in additive printing.
Focusing on young people: an investment for the future
The dinner meeting organized with @Paolo Di Marco by the Comet Cluster on generational turnover and the inclusion of new talent in the company was very interesting. Young people are the foundation for the continuity of our industrial system. Beyond technical training, however, it is essential to give them confidence so they can grow and develop their full potential.
Useful and interesting
The overall outcome of this experience at MECSPE is positive, as it provided us with an up-to-date and reliable overview of the industry current state of play. Furthermore, it gave us new enthusiasm to increase our commitment to the younger generations, who, with all their potential, represent our future.
